Coming in hot from the previous Page Punchers announcements, we have a new wave that truly puts the EXCLUSIVE side of things in capital letters.
When we got the first Black Adam releases they were new, yet somewhat familiar, based mostly on the designs by Lee Bermejo; then we’re getting the Injustice 2 ones, which feature special looks that actually seem like lazy reskins from existing designs and figures.
But as we can see from the images below, this time we’re getting another brand new comic, but also, completely original designs for the four figures on this wave. Granted, the paint app on these (or lack thereof) are a complete disgrace, given that these are DC Direct releases and that should come as a premium product like the times of old, but the designs themselves and the molds are just incredible! This bad ass looking Barry is not going to be everybody’s cup of tea, but definitely looks great, and it shares some DNA with Crime Syndicate’s Johnny Quick, so I see a lot of customs in its future!

This is the figure that leaked last month that had us all a bit puzzled, now we know why it looked different from what we expected… but it’s also close enough to the Ryan Choi from the DC Rebirth era, that we can totally see a retool and DC Multiverse release in the future (just as the leaks also foretold).

Now the bad guys are the ones that are getting the special treatment here, with a Captain Cold that looks menacing and very different from what we are used to while retaining certain elements that definitely make us think of Leonard Snart (mostly the hood and the shape of the googles).

Finally, Mick Rory turns into a complete beast, and I can’t stop seeing some foe taken from Doom for some reason… but I love it; this one is the boldest redesign and with some extra coats of paint, I’m sure it could turn out to be the favorite of the community. What do you think?
